Bar Screens

This is where wastewater treatment starts

Large debris is removed at these Bar Screens and then hauled to the Buncombe County Landfill.

The wastewater is then pumped on to the next stage of treatment for grit and grease removal.

Each of these pumps are capable of delivering
35 million gallons of water a day into the treatment plant

The variable speed motors used to drive the  pumps deliver 400HP each
